A new cool project from Alexey Testov.
Alexey Testov, also known as Biuzer, whose lighting shader we previously featured on 80 Level, has showcased a stunning weather system for his current game project in Unity. The dynamic, bubble-like expansion and collapse effects are so visually compelling they could stand alone as a game mechanic.
According to Alexey, it's all shader-based. An orthographic camera renders the sprite into a texture, and within the shader, wind, fog, and clouds are excluded from that specific area. As for the game itself, Alexey describes it as Stardew Valley meets social engineering, except you're playing as a complete bastard. Set in a remote village hidden deep within the woods and populated by half-mad locals, the game casts you as a manipulator whose sole purpose is to incite conflict and turn the villagers against each other for your own personal gain.
