Take-Two CEO Said That Support of PC Is "Not Complicated"

Take-Two's CEO supposes that the PC platform will grow and said it is not complicated for the company to support it.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was announced only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, leaving PC players to speculate if it would be released for the platform. Recently, the publisher of GTA 6 said that it is "not complicated" to support PC. Though the executive didn't specifically mention the title, these words suggest that GTA 6 might still be announced for computers as well.

In the recent company's earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said (via Games Radar): "The audience is going to show up if you have great properties, so we just have to make sure to be on an array of platforms. He continued: "If one platform diminishes in value, there's always another one."

Zelnick underscored the importance of the PC platform: "We're seeing great growth in PC right now, for example. I have been of the view that open formats would continue to grow, and PC is an open format. I do think PC will continue to be a more and more important part of the console business going forward, and that isn't complicated for us to support at all."

The executive elaborated on how the company chooses platforms for its games: "So the bottom line is we are selective about which platforms we support. We make the tech work when we can make it work, as long as the audience is big enough to make that worthwhile."

Before, speaking about announcing Grand Theft Auto 6 for PC, Strauss Zelnick said that lack of an announcement was not something that could be "set in stone." Recently, some hints at PC versions of GTA 6 were found in the launcher of BattlEye anti-cheat for GTA Online.

In the time it took them to develop GTA VI, most San Andreas and GTA V fans finished school, went to college / university, got jobs, advanced in their careers, and played RDR2 and cried like babies maybe probably. So I'd wager to say a lot of folks would preorder / buy GTA VI on launch on PC even if they're on a budget. It may be the biggest video game launch ever and it's simply a must-buy for a lot of gamers. It would be dumb not to launch on PC
