Tencent Now a Majority Shareholder in Tequila Works

Tencent said the team was looking forward to delivering Tequila Works' ambitions for future games.

Tequila Works, known for its adventure game RiME, survival horror Deadlight, and other titles, shared that it now has a majority shareholder – Tencent. The studio is now working on a single-player adventure game Song of Nunu: A League of Legends Story, and Tencent's support is going to help Tequila Works a lot.

"They’re a partner that can appreciate the value of top creative talent with originality as their banner," Tequila Works CEO Raúl Rubio said. "One that respects our independence and creative freedom. This partnership will allow us to focus on taking the original IPs we are known for to greater heights and create the best experiences we can dream of."

In turn, Pete Smith, VP Partnerships for Tencent Games Global, mentioned Tequila Works’ creativity and attention to detail.

"We look forward to working alongside the team and building on these foundations to deliver on its exciting ambitions for future games," he said.
