Hendrik Schoenmaker, a senior game developer with a background in art and design, is now working on TexTools for Blender.

The developer introduced the first TexTools for 3DS Max back in 2009, but he decided to switch to another tool. The Blender version will have more fancy baking modes and the best thing is that TexTools will be free.
Some of the planned baking modes for TexTools in Blender. Ideally there’d be a clipboard API for bitmaps in Blender to render textures straight into the clipboard.
