The CMA Thinks Nintendo Switch May Not Run Call Of Duty

Switch's technical limitations might not be able to handle CoD despite the binding agreement between Nintendo and Microsoft.

The UK regulator CMA doubts Nintendo Switch can run Call Of Duty, according to its documents. Despite the binding agreement between Nintendo and Microsoft, the handheld owners might not be able to play the shooter on the platform due to its technical limitations.

The regulator noted that Switch "does not currently offer the same suite of graphically intensive games that PlayStation and Xbox compete on", may not be capable of offering graphically intensive multiplayer games (such as CoD), and does not offer a similar user experience in terms of storage, graphics, and framerate.

Overall, Switch is a powerful handheld that can handle many great games, but the CMA isn't sure its specs are enough for Call Of Duty. This fact may be another obstruction in the Microsoft-Activision deal, which has been scrutinized for a year now.
