The location of the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls VI was agreed upon back in the days when Fallout 4 was being developed.
This information was recently shared by Kurt Kuhlmann, the former Elder Scrolls loremaster, who revealed that Bethesda developers had already discussed the game's setting years ago.
"From when we were talking about it way back in the Fallout 4 timeframe," Kuhlmann tells, "there was a sort of consensus amongst a few people that were talking about it."
According to Kuhlmann, the decision had not been fully finalized, and the developers had only reached a preliminary consensus on where The Elder Scrolls VI would take place. The creator, who left Bethesda in 2023, didn't disclose the location and added that he is not aware whether that agreement still stands, but recalls that it wasn't a hard decision to make:
"We had an idea, but it was more of a consensus, like, 'OK, where should the next game be?' And the people that were talking all agreed. It was not an argument. It was like, well, obviously, it should be here. We were more in the feel of it, in the setting; there was no story involved yet."
The Elder Scrolls V was released in 2011, and fans have been highly anticipating the new installment. Recently, Bethesda developers, including Todd Howard, shared that the game is in the works and that a major part of the studio is involved in its creation.
