The Fable Reboot Gets a New Narrative Lead

Playground Games' lead writer was promoted to narrative lead on the Fable reboot.

Playground Games has appointed a new narrative lead to helm the story for the upcoming Fable reboot.

Anna Megill was already a part of the Playground team – she joined the studio in February 2021 and served as a lead writer on the new Fable installment. Megill announced her promotion on Twitter saying that she'll continue working on the reboot of the action role-playing game, but now in a more responsible role as a narrative lead.

Before joining Playground Games, Megill worked at Arkane Studios on Dishonored: Death of the Outsider, she also was a narrative lead at Remedy Entertainment where she was responsible for Control and was a lead writer at Massive Entertainment where she worked on Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora which is set to release in 2022.

The Fable reboot was first announced back in 2020 and since then, the developers haven't shown anything to the public except the reveal trailer that was introduced at the 2020's Xbox Game Showcase. The lack of information about the project made the fans worried that the title may have faced some production issues. In June, however, Fable's producer Amie Loake indirectly confirmed that the studio is currently revisiting the scope of the game, although she noted that it is a natural process for almost every title.
