Thanks for sharing and detailed production breakdown
i thought there wouldnt be anything better than akeytsu for creating easy animations. im happy if i am proven wrong.
Keith, I just wanted to stop by and say: Thank you.
The Grove is the fastest and most natural tool for growing 3D trees for visualization, art, and film. It allows you to customize everything from twigs to juice flow and it’s available as an add-on for Blender.
The way The Grove works is by simulating seasons for 3D trees, each year they grow and change as they would in real life. And the trees have low memory impact and are high quality models so they are ideal for GPU rendering.
The extent to which you can customize the trees are phenomenal. Each tree can mimic its original real life counterpart by using growth parameters like branch angle, gravitropism, and gnarliness. A single set of parameters will control the tree’s destiny for growth from a tiny sapling to a full-grown tree. The species can even be mixed up while the tree is still growing.
Customization goes down to twigs as well. The Grove has highly detailed 3D twig models. The twigs attach to the trees and add a high level of detail and realism. They are also modeled to scale from actual trees. Textures are captured with correct color and reflectance.
You can even control the flow of sugar and hormones to make your trees fight to get light from the sun. This lets you regulate growth by controlling the flow of juice. Environments can be interacted with to create or stop new growth. You will literally be playing mother nature.
Of course there is the amazing integration with Blender. This allows you to import twigs from your favorite modeler or export trees to a renderer of choice. It runs on Linux, Mac, and Windows.
On the way to the official release at the Blender Conference on the 23rd of October, get the Grove with 20% early bird discount. Use coupon code EARLYBIRD at checkout to claim your discount. Be sure to add some twigs, they too are discounted for a limited time.
