The Last of Us Multiplayer Game Director Says The Project Is Still In The Works

One of the key team figures mentioned they're still working on the game.

Vinit Agarwal, Game Director on Naughty Dog's online project set in The Last of Us universe, wrote on Twitter that he is still working on the game. He also mentioned that he finished Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Agarwal has been working at Naughty Dog since 2014 and took on the role of game director in September 2020. Previously, he said that he was working on The Last of Us multiplayer as of June 2022.

The developer's message came amidst rumors that work on the game had been halted. In May, Naughty Dog postponed the release indefinitely, and a few months later, different sources claimed that the project was frozen.

Naughty Dog and Sony have not commented on the media reports. In other news, A LinkedIn profile of Naughty Dog's former game designer suggested the Last of Us multiplayer game will support 40 players in a lobby. Learn more here.
