The Last of Us Part I Will Be Coming to PC "Very Soon" After the PS5 Launch

The game may come to PC sooner than we expected.

Back in June, when Naughty Dog announced an upcoming remake of The Last of Us' first chapter, the developer revealed that apart from PlayStation 5, the game is also coming to PC. However, while the release date for PS5 was known since the announcement, it wasn't disclosed when the title will get a PC version.

Although usually, it takes years for Sony to release PC versions of its games, apparently, this time we won't have to wait for too long. Over the past weekend, senior environment texture artist Jonathan Benaino took to Twitter to reassure the fans that the release of the game for PC will take place shortly after the PS5 version.

When responding to a fan congratulating Naughty Dog on bringing the title to PS5 and PC, Benaino said that the PC version "should come out a bit later, but very soon after the PS5 release."

While it's not a proper release date yet, still it brings some hope that the title will get a sooner release on PC than the previous PlayStation games. For example, Days Gone launched on PC in May 2021, over two years after the game was originally released as a PS4 exclusive in April 2019, and God of War got a PC version over three years after it was initially launched on PS4.

However, still, some fans do not seem particularly optimistic about the "very soon" comments with some of them recalling that another Naughty Dog game, Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection, was promised to receive a PC port "shortly after the PS5 version".

Some Twitter responses drew attention that although the game was released for PlayStation in January this year, we still don't even have an exact release date for PC. Nonetheless, it's worth noting that Legacy Of Thieves Collection's development is handled by Iron Galaxy and not Naughty Dog.
