The Last of Us & Super Mario Adaptations Are Nominated for Golden Globes

This year's Golden Globe has nominated The Last of Us live-action adaptation and Super Mario Bros. Movie for a number of awards. 

It's exciting to know that the HBO live-action adaptation has received prestigious Golden Globe nominations, marking that it's the first-ever nomination for a live-action video game adaptation at The Golden Globes.

Speaking of Super Mario Bros. Movie, the stunningly animated film, which is a collaboration between Nintendo and Illumination, it earlier exceeded all expectations and got the highest-grossing debut of all video-game-based films ever produced. So, no wonder it was nominated for the Golden Globes as well.

Here are the nominations for Super Mario Bros. Movie:

• Best Animated Movie (along with The Boy and the Heron, Elemental, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Suzume, Wish)
• Best Original Song with Peaches (along with Addicted to Romance's She Came to Me, Barbie's Dance the Night, Barbie's I'm Just Ken, Rustin's Road to Freedom, Barbie's What Was I Made For?)
• Cinematic and Box Office Achievement (along with Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour)

Speaking of The Last of Us live-action adaptation's nominations:

• Best drama series (along with 1923, The Crown, The Diplomat, The Morning Show, and Succession)
• Bella Ramsey is nominated for Best Actress — Drama Series (along with Emma Stone – The Curse, Helen Mirren –1923, Imelda Staunton –The Crown, Keri Russell –The Diplomat, Sarah Snook –Succession)
• Pedro Pascal is nominated for Best Actor — Drama Series (along with Brian Cox – Succession, Kieran Culkin – Succession, Gary Oldman – Slow Horses, Jeremy Strong – Succession, Dominic West – The Crown)

If you don't love award shows, The Golden Globes is actually an important one. It's been around for almost 80 years and it gives out awards to movies and TV shows. It recognizes favorite shows, actors, and the people who work on them. So, it's nice to see that some of our favorite game adaptations receive this kind of recognition.
