The release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo's long-awaited game and a sequel to the 2017 Breath of the Wild, is just around the corner, yet it is already receiving overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and various news outlets.
With most critics giving the game a perfect score, Tears of the Kingdom has already managed to beat a few records, even before many have had a chance to play it, becoming the highest-rated game of all times on a review aggregation site OpenCritic. Getting an admirable score of 97.223, the game has beaten Super Mario Odyssey, now ranked second, and its predecessor Breath of the Wild, now ranked third.
The game's Metacritic score is also praise-worthy, standing at 96 at the moment of writing this, getting the same score as GTA V, Elden Ring, and the original BioShock, yet losing by one point to Breath of the Wild.
