The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Delayed "By a Few Months"

The developers explained that they want to meet fans' expectations and deliver a better experience for players.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, an upcoming action-adventure game that follows the character of Gollum before the events of The Lord of the Ring, has been delayed again. The developer Daedalic Entertainment announced the delay on Twitter just two months after it revealed the game's September 1 release.

The studio said that it will share when Gollum will be released in the near future. According to the developers, the game will become available in a "few months", but whether this will happen before the end of 2022 is unclear.

Daedalic explained that the decision to delay the title was made as the studio wants to meet fans' expectations and deliver a better experience for players.

"We are dedicated to meeting our community’s expectations and uncovering the untold story of Gollum in a way that honors the vision of J.R.R. Tolkien," the message reads. "That being said, in order to deliver the best possible experience, we have decided to push the release of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum by a few months."

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was originally announced in 2019 with a 2021 release date, however later it was pushed to 2022. The game will follow the story of Gollum traveling through Middle-Earth and will feature stealth elements to let the character remain in the shadows. The title also involves a narrative system that reflects Gollum’s dual personalities.
