Reportedly, the Shift Up team has decided not to switch to UE5 for the upcoming PC release.
According to recent reports, the soon-to-be-released PC version of Stellar Blade, the acclaimed 2024 action-adventure game developed by Shift Up, will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, the same engine used for the original PlayStation 5 release.

Despite Unreal Engine 5 being available for over three years – or five years if you count the initial reveal – and the Epic Games team gradually revealing more details about Unreal Engine 6, Shift Up appears to be sticking with Unreal Engine 4.26, which was released back in December 2020.
This information comes from a modding enthusiast known as somnus, who recently shared a blurry screenshot on AyakaMods' Stellar Blade-focused Discord server, claiming that the game is indeed powered by UE4.26. As AyakaMods pointed out, "UE4 tends to run more smoothly and offers better FPS compared to UE5" and "makes modding a bit easier and more accessible," meaning that the developer's choice of engine is ultimately "good news for modders."
