The Top 10 Most-Played Steam Next Fest Demos Display a Ton of Variety

The most-played demo was a co-op bomb defusal game starring monkeys.

Steam Next Fest is over, and you may have discovered a lot of anticipated projects and hidden gems along the way. Now, it's time to wrap things up and take a look at the event's results. Steam has unveiled a list of the most-played demos, ordered by number of unique players during the week-long event. Check it out and see if any of your favorites made the list.

BOMBANANA!

An explosive online co-op puzzle game from indie developer Lefto Studio, in which you control a team of three monkeys: blind, deaf, and mute, who are tasked with defusing a bomb with limitations in time and communication.

IRON NEST: Heavy Turret Simulator

Inspired by the dieselpunk aesthetic, this military simulator, developed by Nick Nieuwoudt and Dominik Latos, puts players in the shoes of an operator of a colossal war machine. Players need to take map measurements based on the received coordinates, strain the hydraulics, and get the hang of performing more operations with the device.

Echoes of Aincrad

The game is an anime action RPG from developer Game Studio and publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment, set in a beautiful and dangerous world. Choose your hero and gear, master combat moves, and take part in an epic legend of a floating castle.

Mistfall Hunter

This dark fantasy extraction ARPG, developed by Bellring Games, centers around a mysterious story of a forgotten land, which is being consumed by an unknown substance. Mistfall Hunter features a detailed, story-rich world, with an intense combat unfolding against its backdrop.

over the hill

Embark on a peaceful adventure solo or with your friends through scenic landscapes inspired by the nature of British Columbia, Canada. In this game by Funselektor Labs and Strelka Games, you will travel across dense forests, winding trails, and rugged mountain terrain, photograph wildlife, and take on technical Challenge Trails that test your driving skills.

EMPULSE

1047 Games' title is a fast-paced 6v6 movement shooter, where speed is everything: outmove and outgun your competitors across the post-utopian streets of Freehold, chain wallrun grapple swings, and fight for Crews to control mechs for power.

Dust Front RTS

The game is a classic representative of the RTS genre with 4X/grand strategy elements, developed by rtsDimon. The demo showcases the RTS side, where players lead a triumphant siege of an industrial city, command strike groups, and defeat one of two enemy factions.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu

ACE Team's game is a four-player co-op, where a group of explorers embarks on an adventure looking for treasure. The story takes place in the ominous jungle, where danger awaits on every corner.

XenoFeels

KotaMota Games presented a space customs simulator, where you control the visitors of your tiny asteroid, and if you let in those whom you shouldn't, it will explode. The game is a comedy, so get ready for an exciting adventure.

Embers of the Uncrowned

Developed by NEXON, the game is a dark fantasy MMORPG combining fast-paced isometric combat with brutal visuals. Set in a world ravaged by elven invaders, players embark on an epic journey to restore the last remnants of hope to a fallen house.
