This month, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is turning 9 years old and fans can celebrate by modding the game with ambitious projects and total conversions with the official toolkit from CD Projekt RED.

REDkit is a big change from The Witcher 3's original official modkit, which launched in 2015, allowing only the modification of some aspects of the game without creating entirely new constructs. The new mod editor is a powerful software said to be based on the same tools that were used by the developers while working on the game and should allow for nearly limitless freedom in modding it, enabling the creation of new characters, entire storylines, and even new territories.

After a month of testing, CD Projekt RED has announced that The Witcher 3 REDkit will launch on May 21st. Unfortunately, console owners will be missing out on this, but the editor is going to be completely free for everyone who owns The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC. Either way, it's great to see the developers expanding their support for such a beloved project after all these years.
