It will be “the main and most intense stage of development.”
CD Projekt
CD Projekt’s Project Polaris, namely The Witcher 4, has left the pre-production period and entered the full production phase.
The Polish developer’s latest financial report confirms the status of the game’s development. Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski highlighted the importance of this stage during the company’s Q3 2024 earnings conference, calling it “the main and most intense stage of development.”
Looking at what the team has achieved in the pre-production phase, Michał Nowakowski said progress has been made on the key areas of the game, “including the storyline, main mechanics, and design, amongst other elements, and then tested how they work together on a playable segment.”
CD Projekt
As the “most advanced” game ever created by CDPR, the project has been allocated the majority of the manpower, with currently 400 out of the total 650 staff working on it. This is followed by Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, Orion, which 64 of the employees are working on, whereas the projects Sirius and Hadar have 42 and 18 employees assigned to them.
The report also showed that Cyberpunk 2077 has reached a thirty million sales milestone, with its first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, selling eight million. Despite a good sales number, a few days ago, it was confirmed that the game won’t receive a PlayStation 5 pro patch.
