"Never count Nintendo out," says the CEO of GTA's publisher.
Rockstar
With each passing day, we're getting closer to the release of Nintendo Switch 2, or, if your interest is more in the games, closer to GTA 6's fall release window. It might sound like a crazy idea to play Rockstar's next big title, whose map is said to be much larger than GTA 5, on the upcoming Switch, but it might not be that crazy. At least, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick isn't going to rule out that choice.
During the company's quarterly earnings call, Zelnick was asked about his hopes or expectations for Switch 2, and his answer was brief yet promising: "I never count Nintendo out."
He also shares some thoughts on whether the successor of Nintendo Switch, which will be compatible with the previous Switch games, would be "a more viable platform" for the company's titles.
"We don't tend to comment meaningfully on the decisions of the hardware makers except to say that successful platforms benefit the business, and we support successful platforms. We're happy to do so," he said.
Nintendo
If we look at the other party involved, things might become a bit more promising and interesting. In Nintendo's recently shared Q2 results for Fiscal Year 2025, it's mentioned that one of the things the company has done to boost its video game platform business is to strengthen its relationships with various publishers, including Take-Two.
The increased cooperation between the two parties will for sure benefit everyone, including the players. What do you think of the possibility of enjoying GTA 6 on Nintendo's upcoming console? Let us know.
