This Cyberpunk-Like Device Powering AR Contact Lenses Brings Future Closer

BlinkIT provides energy right to your eye.

The unbelievable future we've all imagined at least once is coming thanks to BlinkIT, a cyberpunk-looking device that provides power and communication to smart ocular devices like AR contact lenses. One problem with such lenses is that they need something to power them, and this source has to stay close. Developed by Blink Energy, BlinkIT solves this issue as it's attached directly to the eyelid, and its proximity to the smart device lets you wear it much longer.

Blink Energy says that the data is saved 24/7 in an app or a cloud-based server. According to the company, BlinkIT is comfortable and has a minimal footprint. "The ocular unit with its proprietary ASIC based solution will integrate into wearable and implantable devices such as IOP or glucose sensor," its description says. The best part is that it's wireless, so you're free to observe the world with new imagery provided by the lenses.

I must say the patch doesn't look very comfortable to wear, but Blink Energy's CTO, who has the device in the video, claims it feels fine. All we can do is trust him as BlinkIT is not available for purchase yet, as far as I understand.
