This Dystopian Survival Game Will Have You Exploring the Underwater World
If you enjoyed Subnautica, this game might be for you.
Sonorous | Deep Down Below is a first-person survival game set in a dystopian reality that will have you exploring the underwater world to save humanity.
The developer shared a new trailer showing some of the creatures and visuals you'll find in the game.
You'll play as Matthew Cole, a lead bioengineer working on "Sonorous", a low-frequency cure to eradicate the X-2HX virus that affected the soil, forcing humans to live on the open sea.
You and other scientists from around the world are on a floating military research facility called Fortune, but the ship gets wrecked in the deep sea. You survive, but you need to keep it that way and recover Sonorous.
Some of the features of the game are:
- Explore: You'll discover new environments, wildlife, and resources to complete your mission.
- Craft: Create weapons, food, tools, and other items.
- Hunt and Farm: Use your weapons to hunt different fish and use your skills to craft structures to survive.
- Survive: Find food and water, minimize injuries, and fight off scavengers and unknown creatures.
Sonorous | Deep Down Below is being developed by the Indie Developer HOONAYA, and it has been compared to Subnautica, which is also a survival game that occurs in an alien underwater world.
The game doesn't have a release date yet, but you can request access to a playtest or add it to your wishlist on Steam. You can also follow HOONAYA on Twitter/X to be updated.
