Jason Key has showcased a new real-time setup running on the RTX 4090 GPU.
Jason Key, a Principal VFX Artist whose mind-blowing experiments with JangaFX's software you all know and love, has really one-upped himself this time with an absolutely other-worldly nebula simulation that runs in real-time.
Featured in Crafted Cosmos, Jason's personal 3D project illustrating the evolution of a nebula, the simulation was created entirely using EmberGen, JangaFX's flagship volumetric fluid simulation tool for simulating, rendering, and exporting flipbooks, image sequences, and VDB volumes. The key component, as explained by the artist, was NVIDIA's RTX 4090 GPU, whose robust capabilities enabled Jason to execute such a simulation in real-time.
This is not the first time Jason has proved to the world that EmberGen's capabilities aren't limited to smoke and fire simulations. Previously, the creator showcased a realistic-looking real-time underwater explosion simulation, achieved by "keyframing positive and negative pressure from a point force with falloff":
And last month, the artist wowed the audiences by simulating real-time caustics using LiquiGen, JangaFX's node-based fluid simulation software now available in closed alpha:
