This First-Person Cinematic Psychological Thriller Brings You To East Germany in 1984

Karma: The Dark World, which receives a new demo and dreamcore trailer, will be released in ten days.

POLLARD STUDIO LLC

If there are many factors to consider in determining the quality of a horror game, realistic graphics are undoubtedly one of the most important. When players are immersed in a game environment that is close to reality, they will feel involved, and the horror will naturally be extraordinary. The first-person psychological thriller we want to recommend today has cinematic graphics that make it difficult to tell if the environments or characters are real or 3D modeled.

KARMA: The Dark World is developed by a Chinese indie studio based in Shanghai, POLLARD STUDIO LLC, using Unreal Engine 5. The story takes place in East Germany in 1984. "The Leviathan Corporation rules with an iron fist, controlling its citizens through mass surveillance, social class rules, mind altering drugs and the promise that the gates to Utopia will open to those who serve."

The player takes on the role of Daniel McGovern, a Roam Agent for Leviathan’s Thought Bureau, with the superpower of diving into the minds of the accused. Using a variety of investigative tools, as well as your keen intellect and investigation skills, you will explore a world full of espionage and betrayal and then uncover the dark secrets hidden deeply.

With only ten days remaining until the game's release, it has just received a dreamcore demo trailer that showcases its stunning visuals and immersive first-person experience.

Speaking about why working on a walking simulator of the horror genre, Yonghe Wang, the game's director, told Chinese gaming outlet GameRes, that the team hopes to "create a virtual social environment so that when players play the game, they will empathize with the choices made by the game characters in a certain scene or situation, and think about the problems behind them."

KARMA: The Dark World will be available on PC via Steam and PS5 when it's globally launched on March 27. If you can't wait to dive into its heart-pounding world, download the demo from Steam now.
