The game is set in medieval Bohemia; in the present day, it is the Czech Republic. The game's world shows real-life locations, such as castles, cathedrals, streets, and houses, recreated with impressive graphic fidelity using CryEngine. Trosky Castle, Church of Saint James, Kutná Hora, Fortress Malešov, the Sedlec Ossuary, Husova Street, St Barbara's Cathedral, Katedrála Nanebevzetí, and more – all of these remarkable places can be found in the game.
