This Medieval FPS with Guns Forces You to Lower Graphics to Win
FPS Quest is an upcoming retro-style shooter, where FPS is your character's health.
Check out FPS Quest, a first-person shooter developed by Farlight Games Industry, with a peculiar mechanic – if you make mistakes in the game, your FPS, as in frames per second, becomes worse.
In this retro-style boomer shooter, FPS is your health, as every hit, mistake, and bad decision reduces your performance. You need to tweak settings on the fly, remove walls, and lower graphics to make your way through the game and gain FPS. As you push it further, things become more chaotic and absurd – enemies start glitching, behaving unpredictably, or even speeding up when the FPS drops.

As you proceed, you can gain scripts – abilities that let you use FPS to your advantage by controlling it with your mouse wheel at the cost of temperature, speeding up the game or slowing it down.

FPS Quest offers recombined levels on each run, where you can choose between new settings, upgrades, or alternative weapons at the end of each level. This is the gaming experience where every choice affects not only your combat power, but the state of the game itself.
The developer notes that the game doesn't affect your real FPS, and the effect of a lower performance is entirely simulated.
