This Newly Launched Co-op Mod For Armored Core VI Allows PvP

Time to team up and fight against invasions from rogue Armored Cores.

Even if you aren't familiar with the name LukeYui, you've probably already heard of or even used the famous mod they created for Elden Ring, Seamless Co-op, which has been downloaded by over 1.5 million players. This mod "Overhaul to the co-operative aspect of Elden Ring's multiplayer, allows you to play with friends throughout the entirety of the game with no restrictions."

Once again, thanks to LukeYui, the public alpha of an exciting new mod for Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is now available. This groundbreaking mod, uploaded on April 1, is no prank. It's an enhancement that introduces online co-op to the single-player missions of FromSoftware's mecha game. Those who enjoy teamwork can now invite up to five friends to join a session and collaborate on missions.

The mod also makes the game more exciting by introducing enemy Armored Core (AC) invasions. Whether on missions solo or with a team, players are vulnerable to invasions from rogue ACs operated by other players. These rogue enemies seek to disrupt gameplay, creating unpredictability with unexpected PvP encounters throughout the game. Of course, for those who prefer non-PvP, the mod provides the option to disable it.

The modder has also taken steps to maintain the game's challenge, introducing a small increase in enemy health and armor per additional player. This addresses the lack of enemy scaling in the base game.

To use the mod, one player needs to host a session via the garage menu by selecting "START MULTIPLAYER". Once the team is formed, the host can then select a mission for the group to play.

While the mod is still in the early alpha stage, its performance appears to be outstanding when tried out by PC Gamer's editors. You can check out the modder's video shared at the beginning of the development process:
