This Procedural Bricks Tool Makes You Scream "Take My Money!"

UNfragment01 leveraged the power of Blender to set up a bus stop scene from My Neighbor Totoro.

Every once in a while, we see Digital Artists showcasing custom-made tools they create for bigger projects, without seemingly realizing that these tools are impressive in their own right. Such was the case with 3D Artist UNfragment01, who recently went viral on Reddit for presenting what they viewed as just a small brick of a much larger piece, yet, in reality, turned out to be praise-worthy in and of itself.

The brick in question is the artist's amazing procedural tool that allows the user to set up brick roads and structures in a remarkably satisfying way by simply extruding bricks in various directions. Powered by Blender's Geometry Nodes toolset, the setup has simple planes at its core, which the nodes manipulate to create the bricks.

Initially, UNfragment01's showcase was meant to simply demonstrate a cool tool they made for a WIP 3D recreation of the bus stop scene from My Neighbor Totoro, however, thanks to numerous comments praising the system, the artist is now considering making the generator commercially available once it's further refined and enhanced with additional features, such as the ability to create different types of bricks, add moss, and more.

Besides the setup in question, the creator also showcased other parts of the upcoming scene:

We highly encourage you to follow UNfragment01 on Twitter to support the artist, check out more of their projects, and stay updated on the current state of the brick tool.
