Sixthorns showcased a new feature for their Unreal Engine-powered beat 'em up game.
Solo Game Developer known as Sixthorns continues working on their upcoming physics-based beat 'em up game, highlighting a new mechanic that subtly but significantly enhances the believability and realism of character-object interactions.
As showcased in the developer's latest demo, the game's playable character can now interact with in-game objects in a lifelike manner. For instance, she can open doors with her hand, clear obstacles from her path, move boxes, touch stationary objects, and more. According to Sixthorns, the new Unreal Engine-powered system is fully dynamic, capable of reacting to any solid object, whether static or a rigid body, and potentially interacting with other characters as well.
