With the first DLC of Starlight, Shattered Space, seemingly nowhere in sight, you might be searching for something to do while you wait.
Well, the modder TankGirl444 has created something worth trying. A new DLC-sized mod has been released, allowing you to create entire colonies, construct giant mechs, and explore an array of new features, like farming.
The modder has now combined elements of their previous mods to create an immersive, consolidated system. According to the modder:
"This mod is meant to be a comprehensive rethink/ change/ addition to the outpost system, its production systems, and many other aspects. The idea is to turn the outpost system into an immersive space colonization simulator, using elements from the game's core lore and story."

The most exciting feature is probably the ability to build giant mechs with this mod. The mechas can be crafted and incorporated into outpost defenses. A wide variety of mechs are currently available, with plans to expand the selection in future updates.
The mod also introduces over 40 new plants and production items that you can farm. These products serve multiple purposes, from being sold for profit, utilized in crafting, or consumed as food.

The mod is now available for download on the Nexus Mods platform. Despite the extensive features already available, TankGirl444 assures fans that this is just the beginning, with more updates on the horizon.
