This Upcoming Game Tasks You to Escape From The Truman Show

American Arcadia, a 2.5D puzzle platformer about escaping a world-scale reality TV show, has got an official release date.

Game publishing studio Raw Fury has shared an official release date announcement trailer for American Arcadia, an upcoming 2.5D puzzle platformer and first-person game about escaping "The Truman Show"-style world-scale reality TV show.

Being developed by Call of the Sea creators Out of the Blue Games, American Arcadia is set in a retro-futuristic 70s metropolis, the inhabitants of which are completely unaware that their lives are being constantly broadcast. However, there's a chilling catch – a drop in popularity means facing a death sentence. This dire predicament compels our protagonist, an unpopular office clerk named Trevor Hills, to hatch an escape plan.

Fortunately, Trevor receives a helping hand from Angela Solano, a stage technician for American Arcadia who leverages her technical skills and cleverness to manipulate the world around Trevor, guiding him on his perilous path to freedom.

One of the game's most interesting features is its combination of two entirely different gameplay experiences, depending on which character you play as at the moment. In American Arcadia, you will need to control two different characters in two different worlds as you play through Trevor's escape in 2.5D puzzle platforming sections and assist him as Angela in first-person hacking gameplay.

The game's voice cast deserves special mention, with acclaimed actors like Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man 1 & 2, Call of the Sea), Krizia Bajos (Cyberpunk 2077, League of Legends), and Cissy Jones (Firewatch, Call of the Sea) bringing the characters of American Arcadia to life.

With the newly-released trailer, the team announced that American Arcadia is coming to PC via Steam on November 15, 2023. The demo version of the game is currently available for download and can be accessed for free via the game's official Steam page.
