More Grease Pencil stuff from Krysidian.
Rigging Grease Pencil in Blender isn't a new technique, but in case you weren't aware it's possible, Krysidian recently shared a helpful tip. It's somewhat similar to 2D puppet animation, but the process is more like rigging a 3D character, and you can even use tools like Rigify.
On top of that, you can rig frame-by-frame animations using Time Offset modifiers. It works similarly to shape keys, making it perfect for facial animations, expression collages, and more. Here's a similar example from Asamiya Kobo:
Krysidian is also developing a custom tool that allows you to draw faces directly with Grease Pencil and carve out the features:
