The game managed to hit this milestone just a week after its release.
Sales of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge have surpassed 1 million copies. Tribute Games, the developer of the retro-inspired beat 'em up game, revealed the news on Twitter.
The game was released on June 16 for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC and received widely positive reviews. In a tweet, the developers shared that the game managed to hit this significant milestone just a week after its release and thanked the fans for their support.
"We are humbled to have so many people sharing our love of the Turtles,” Tribute Games wrote. "One million copies sold in its first week calls for a mondo pizza party with tubular toppings! Thanks again to all of you all over the globe and in Dimension X!"
The publisher of the game, Dotemu, also took to Twitter to celebrate the 1 million mark thanking the fans as well as Nickelodeon and Tribute Games for making the game happen.
"Working on TMNT was the challenge of a lifetime and everything became possible thanks to Nickelodeon
and the incredible work of Tribute Games!" the tweet reads.
One million copies sold in a week is already a great result, and it looks even more impressive taking into account that the title became available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, so a lot of players don't have to pay full price for the game.
