"If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode," says Phoebe Waller-Bridge, writer and executive producer of the series.
It looks like turning video games into TV shows and anime is the hot new trend. First, we had the Fallout franchise, and now another well-loved title, Tomb Raider, is also set to be adapted. Amazon's Prime Video platform has announced that it will host the new series based on this iconic game franchise.

Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon & MGM Studios, shared this exciting news during Amazon's upfronts presentation on Tuesday, revealing "very soon we’ll start the worldwide search for who would play this iconic role".
The live-action series will be written and executive-produced by Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge. And it will be co-produced by Amazon and game developer Crystal Dynamics. However, Amazon has yet to announce the release timeline.

Sharing her excitement about the project, Waller-Bridge said:
"If I could tell my teenage self this was happening I think she’d explode. Tomb Raider has been a huge part of my life and I feel incredibly privileged to be bringing it to television with such passionate collaborators. Lara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can’t wait to go on this adventure. Bats ‘n all."
