Tutorial: How to Make Nature Shaders in Unity

Make semi-realistic sand and stylized water.

Learning is the best way to stay relevant, and Unity is here to help you with this. The company released a great tutorial on how to create two nature shaders using Universal Render Pipeline (URP) in Unity 2022 LTS.

By following the instructions provided, you will make a stylized water shader and a semi-realistic sand shader using Shader Graph.

With the first one, you will try to create a calm stylized stream that runs in the middle of a Japanese-style garden scene. You will grace your project with reflections, edge foam, and water trails.

The sand shader looks more realistic and might be a challenge at first glance. You will see how to make the sand glitter and the blowing dust to add liveliness to your scene.
