Ubisoft Is Reportedly Working on a New Prince of Persia Game

The new Prince of Persia title is said to be one of 20 new projects that could be presented at Ubisoft's big games showcase event.

Ubisoft is reportedly working on the next Prince of Persia project. According to the recent Tom Henderson's report for Xfire, the title which is described as a 2.5D game inspired by the Ori franchise will likely be developed by Ubisoft Montpellier with the participation of other studios of the company. It is unclear whether the game will be a spin-off or a mainline installment as well as the release date isn't known yet.

Citing "several sources with direct knowledge of Ubisoft's plans", Henderson reports that Ubisoft has currently a total of 20 titles lined up that will be announced in the "near future". That includes the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, which was presented in 2020 and is still in active development. The game is said to undergo major changes following the negative fan reaction to the announcement.

Apart from the Prince of Persia projects, Ubisoft is also working on several games that we already know about including Assasin's Creed Infinity, Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, and Beyond Good and Evil's sequel, and it is said that a few unannounced titles like Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel, The Crew 3, and Assassin’s Creed Rift are also in the works.

According to Henderson's sources, Ubisoft is planning a major upcoming games showcase event, which was supposed to be held ahead of this year's potential E3 show, although those plans, apparently, have been put on hold due to recent world events.
