Ucupaint 2.1.5 Introduces Object Space Normal Painting

The latest release of ucupumar's free texturing Blender add-on addresses numerous bugs and enhances hand-painting workflows.

Ucupaint, a free popular Blender for layer texture management created by 3D Artist ucupumar, has been upgraded to the 2.1.5 version. Now, Ucupaint can now bake and utilize an Object Space normal map, making it especially useful for hand-painting stylized normal maps.

This release also resolves several bugs, including:

  • Can't enable channel's alpha in Blender 4.3+;
  • Transferring image masks sometimes will use the wrong base color (Blender 2.83+);
  • Can't bake channel when there are multiple materials in a single object and the active object is in Edit mode;
  • Opening images from other material can accidentally delete unrelated images;
  • Can't preview the override normal when using Layer Preview mode;
  • Images get packed after saving them externally.

Upgrade to Ucupaint 2.1.5 here and take a look at some recent passivestar's Ucupaint experiments below:
