The development team behind Trench Tales, an upcoming WWI-inspired third-person shooter being created with Unreal Engine 5, has recently shared a couple of new demos, showcasing the incredible destruction mechanics and explosions they created for the game.
Currently WiP, the new mechanics would allow the player to shoot through and shatter light obstacles, like wood boards and thin metal sheets, with bullets and explode gas tanks, which upon being shot start leaking ignited gas and flying uncontrollably, acting much more lifelike when compared to stereotypical red barrels. Much like the rest of the game, the new mechanics were set up with UE5.
