Unity plug-in UModeler X has become free to download, the developer has announced.
The base version of UModeler X is now available for free, while the Plus version remains a paid product. Before, the toolset was available via a subscription. According to the announcement, all users with a license will be transitioned to a new PicoBerry AI plan customized based on their purchase history.
UModeler Hub is being discontinued, with version 1.2 of UModeler X dropping the login and authentication requirement entirely, allowing users to install and use the tool straight away. In all PicoBerry plans, all 3D assets and templates will remain available for download from an artist's profile storage even after UModeler Hub is removed. Existing accounts will transition to PicoBerry accounts with matching benefits, where users will be able to manage their profile, AI credits, and assets.
