UNIGINE 2.21 Is Out Now

Introducing a new animation system with a visual logic editor, plus quality-of-life improvements and major performance optimizations.

It's been a while since the last UNIGINE engine release, and this version brings some updates to the core tools along with a few new features.

The big highlight is a new animation system with a visual logic editor, think Animation Blueprints in Unreal Engine, which should make creating complex animation behaviors much more intuitive:

There are a lot of Editor quality-of-life changes that make daily work smoother: faster scene loading and saving, improved object selection and manipulation, better organization and interaction overall, and enhanced handling of large-scale worlds and georeferenced scenes. Other updates include rendering improvements like bindless textures, an upgraded water system, refined tonemapping, and better support for Gaussian Splatting.

UNIGINE 2.21 also brings major optimizations for CPU, GPU, RAM, and VRAM usage:

UNIGINE 2.21 adds new project templates for aviation simulators and VR MRO scenarios, helping you get started faster on industry-specific projects. A new DataBridge Plugin enables real-time interaction between 3D scenes and external systems, and robotics workflows get a big boost with an upgraded ROS 2 integration.

With UNIGINE 2.21, two new SDK editions have been introduced. The Entertainment edition targets commercial studios in game development, visualization, XR, and creative industries, while the Academic Research edition is aimed at universities and research labs.
