Unique Procedural Tricks System For Freeride Skiing Unity Game

A demo will be available in approximately four days.

Studio Gauntlet's Christer Rebni showcased a procedural tricks system with no moves predefined developed for the studio's upcoming freeriding skiing game called SNØ, set to release later this year.

According to the developer, the team recently began broader beta testing and received numerous requests for a trick system. They decided to implement it, and it immediately felt like a perfect fit.

Speaking about SNØ, Christer Rebni explained that the project grew out of Studio Gauntlet's deep familiarity with Norway's skiing and mountain culture, shaped by their own experiences living there. The developers also spent a lot of time learning about procedural generation and wanted to try to generate infinite worlds where you can explore in any direction while still encountering engaging terrain.

SNØ is a minimalistic game about freeriding. The controls are easy to learn, and there are infinite, procedurally generated mountainscapes that can be explored. Go for the high score, or just go with the flow as you master the art of freeriding and experience beautiful mountains inspired by Scandinavian nature.

A demo will be available in about four days, so wishlist SNØ on Steam to get notified when it's released. You can also keep up with the game's development by following Christer Rebni on X/Twitter.
