Dylan Browne shared a new test using hardware Lumen.
Last year, we shared some tests conducted by Dylan Browne, who has been exploring the latest UE5-Main releases and pointed out that Epic is developing a new ray-traced translucency feature that utilizes hit lighting for both reflections and refraction and integrates with depth of field.
In this scene, based on the ship from the Love, Death & Robots episode Beyond The Aquila Rift, Dylan once again showcased it using Substrate materials, highlighting the latest advancements. He also mentioned that version 5.6 hasn't been branched on GitHub yet, so he estimates the release will likely align with Unreal Fest Orlando 2025 in June. Typically, once it's branched on GitHub, the preview release follows about 1-2 months later.
