Publisher Coffee Stain and developer Iron Gate Studio announced that their Viking survival game Valheim has sold over 10 million copies. The game managed to reach a significant milestone a little over a year since it was launched in Steam Early Access.
In a joint press release, the companies also reported that Valheim saw an all-time player peak of 502,000 and got an "overwhelmingly positive" review (the game currently has over 293,000 reviews on Steam, 95% of which are positive).
In addition to this, the companies shared that Valheim sales had shown an impressive result of 3 million copies sold in just over two weeks since the release.
"We never imagined Valheim would become so big, not even in our wildest dreams, and the past year flew by faster than we anticipated," said CEO of Iron Gate Studio Richard Svensson.
Svensson also mentioned that since the release of Valheim in early February 2021, the Iron Gate Studio team has doubled and revealed that the developers are currently actively working on the creation of a major update that will add the Mistlands biome to the game as well as some new weapons to craft. Although he didn't specify any details including the release date.
