Valve Doesn't Have Grand Plan for Leaks, They Happen Thanks to "Somebody Fat-Fingering Something"
It's a little disappointing.
Valve
With how many leaks Valve has suffered, with Deadlock, Half-Life, Deckard, and Steam Machine, there is a whole conspiracy theory suggesting the company is letting some information about its upcoming products "get away" on purpose as a marketing tactic.
However, there is no such thing, at least according to Valve itself. "Usually we all look around like, 'Who leaked?'" engineer Josh Hudman told PC Gamer.
"Everybody assumes that we have some sort of, like, grand plan with our leaks," added his colleague Gabe Rowe, "and it's literally just somebody fat-fingering something."
So, the truth is out: there is no elaborate marketing scheme coming from Valve. Or is it just what it wants us to think?
