Valve Might Be Creating a New Gaming Device

The company has trademarked Steam Frame, which covers computer hardware.

Valve might be developing a new hardware product, as it has registered a new trademark with the title of Steam Frame, covering computer hardware and game consoles.

According to the filing on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website, the trademark covers such categories as computer hardware, computer networking hardware, computer peripherals, and computer hardware and computer software for the reproduction, processing, and streaming of audio, video, data, text, and multimedia content.

There's also a second submitted document dedicated to the same title, which states that the trademark covers such products as computer game consoles for recreational game playing, video game consoles, and video game accessories, namely, controllers for video games.

Valve

Currently, Valve is working on a VR headset codenamed Deckard and, reportedly, a SteamOS home console known under the name of Fremont. Valve hasn't offered any official comments on the new trademark, so it's unclear whether the new gadget would be a more powerful successor to Steam Deck, an entirely new device, or even a set of gadgets for an immersive gaming experience.
