The upcoming handheld gaming PC will support FSR for all games available but only if it's Linux-based.
Steam Deck – Valve's handheld gaming PC getting ready to launch on 25th February – will have integrated support for AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) upscaling. It will increase games' performance for SteamOS users, regardless of whether the game itself supports the technology.
Valve has always planned to support FSR, but the company initially wanted to include it in one of the future OS releases:
"FSR is already available for some applications that support it. Games that already include FSR will work as is, but also FSR support will be included as part of an OS future release. Once that happens, games could potentially make use of FSR even if the games themselves don't natively support it."
Now, due to an update to SteamOS Gamescope compositor, users can enjoy better performance on Linux-based Steam Decks right after their release.
It has also been found that Steam Deck will support more than 100 titles, one of them being 2018's God of War, although not all of them have been officially verified yet.
