Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Is Officially In Development

The developers aim to bring "large-scale battles that are even more spectacular."

Just six months after the successful release of third-person shooter Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, Saber Interactive, Games Workshop, and Focus Entertainment have officially announced that they are working on the next installment in the franchise.

The promotion art features Demetrian Titus, hinting that he'd play a key role in the next game as well. There is a video teaser trailer, which is an animated version of the picture, with rain effects and thunder sounds in the background, making fans really "get a feel for the game."

"Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games," John Bert, Deputy CEO of Focus Entertainment Publishing, said in the press release. Although no specific details are shared, the developers promise that the upcoming game "will take the genre to new heights by introducing large-scale battles that are even more spectacular."

Space Marine 2 has been a great hit, attracting two million players two days after the launch, and could be "the fastest selling game" that Todd Hollenshead, Head of Publishing at Saber Interactive, and CCO Tim Willits have ever worked on, beating Quake, DOOM, Wolfenstein, and RAGE games. No wonder it is described as "a transformative game" for Saber in the statement. While the next game is in development, the team promises to continue to support and expand Space Marine 2 in the upcoming years based on the "ambitious roadmap." The Horde mode is about to be coming soon.
