A colorful metaphor for LinkedIn getting overwhelmed by AI slop.
If you've tried looking for real, human-made digital artwork on LinkedIn lately, chances are you've noticed how difficult it has become, with your feed getting flooded by AI slop almost instantly, no matter how often you click "Not Interested." Sharing the frustration of many – including yours truly – is 3D Medical and Healthcare Animator Joel Stutz, who recently expressed his take on the issue with a stunning 3D simulation.
Offering a colorful metaphor for LinkedIn getting overwhelmed by generative garbage, Joel depicted a T-cell becoming cancer, emphasizing that the animation was done manually, took some actual time, and required technical knowledge that goes beyond the ability to write a prompt.
As for the software, the creator explicitly stated that the sim was set up using Houdini, but with the list of hashtags also including Maya, it's likely that Autodesk's popular application was leveraged as well. "Now that it's done, go ahead, LinkedIn, sell this data to Chat GPT, Veo 3, Runway, or whichever trillion-dollar company mining data for profit," commented Joel.
