Is it awesome or terrifying?
Starfield players love mods and modders love Thomas the Tank Engine, a creepy locomotive you've definitely seen in all kinds of media. Naturally, the two can't exist without each other, so to enjoy the creature's company to the fullest, you can download a mod by Trainwiz called Really Useful Starfield, which replaces all spaceships with Thomas.

"Let's be mature about this now," urges the creator and adds a horrifying passage providing some backstory to how the locomotive came to exist in this universe:
"For his crimes against God and his invention of murder, Thomas was smote, thusly. Rejected from Hell and obviously never going to get into Heaven, they say that the Tank Engine has been banished to wander the stars forever, unable to satiate his bloodlust and unable to find peace in his heart.
"But hey he's your spaceship now so that's pretty funny. It always is."

The mod replaces every reactor model in the game with Thomas, although there might be some glitches here and there with your ship poking through the model. Trainwiz also switched some magazine textures with Thomas's, which are prioritized by the game.

Extract the data folder wherever you want, then copy the files in it over to your Starfield install directory/Data folder.
Create a custom StarfieldCustom.ini in Documents\My Games\Starfield and add the lines:

If you need more Thomas the Tank Engines in your Starfield, just replace Vasco with him via this mod by BulwarkHD. The more, the merrier after all.
You can also add delicious food to the game, seamless space traveling, or flashlights with Phil Spencer, Todd Howard, and Nicolas Cage. The Starfield Script Extender will help you make your own changes before the official modding toolkit comes in 2024.
