Wish Dragon: First Trailer Released

A new animated movie will show a modern version of a genie-in-a-bottle fairy tale.

Sony Pictures Animation (SPA) together with Chinese film companies released the first trailer for the animated comedy film, Wish Dragon.

The animated movie will show the genie-in-a-bottle fairy tale set in modern China. The story will focus on the journey of the boy and the dragon who can make wishes come true and follow the challenges these characters will face and overcome together.

The film is based on the original story by Chris Applehans who will also take the role of the director for this project. Wish Dragon will be the first international project released by SPA and will be voiced for both Chinese and U.S. versions.

The release is planned to be in 2020.
