Xbox Is Reportedly Planning to Shut Down South of Midnight & Hellblade Studios
Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory, and Double Fine are talking with Microsoft to find another way, it is said.

Several Xbox studios are in danger of closure, and one of them is Compulsion Games, the developer of South of Midnight and We Happy Few, founded by ex-Arkane Studios developer Guillaume Provost in 2009.
As reported by Bloomberg, Compulsion, Double Fine, and Ninja Theory are all negotiating with Microsoft, trying to stay afloat. All of them created award-winning games, but it wasn't enough to avoid shutdowns, it seems.
The report is surprising, as Ninja Theory has just announced Senua, the next game in the Hellblade series, canceling its horror project Mara. Perhaps we will not see either of them.
Xbox is in the middle of restructuring at the moment, with major layoffs planned by its new CEO, Asha Sharma, who tried to earn favor among players by giving away consoles and lowering Game Pass prices.
In other news, head of Xbox Game Studios Craig Duncan and chief of staff Louise O'Connor left the company after respective 15 and 27 years there. Chief content officer Matt Booty will be taking over Duncan's work while Microsoft is looking for a replacement.
