YouTuber Challenged His 69-Year-Old Dad to Beat Dark Souls

It took the father of the year 9 months and 1400 deaths.

YouTuber Babe1Babe2 challenged his 69-year-old father to beat Dark Souls to help him better understand his son's interests and change his opinion about video games.

His father used to call his son's gaming hobby brain rot and only allowed him to play for one hour a day. Still, he accepted the challenge and dove into Dark Souls. It took him 9 months and over 1400 in-game deaths to defeat all the bosses. Ultimately, he admitted that the experience was incredibly enjoyable. The father of the year emphasized that he did it out of love for his son and that video games can bring families closer together.

Now known as GigaDad, the new player said that playing Dark Souls was thrilling and that he's never felt anything like it. He also advised that if you want to be closer to someone you love, don’t try to convince them to do what you want — do what they want.

You can watch a video about the experience below:

"It’s because I love you. I learned a long time ago that if you want to be close to somebody, you don’t try to convince them to do something you want to do; you go do something they want to do. You asked me to do it, and I was very flattered. I never thought you’d do such a thing, especially since I’ve been so anti-video games for so long. You are the attraction, not the video game," said GigaDad. You can close the internet for today. You won't find anything cuter than that.

He faced the final boss, Gwyn, live on stream, watched by 1,400 viewers. Now, he's getting ready to continue his gaming career with Elden Ring.

In case you missed it, the much-loved YouTuber Shirley Curry, known as 'Skyrim Grandma,' has recently started playing Oblivion Remastered.
